Enough gives you a glimpse into heartbreak I was unwilling to give in to. Little “notes” I wrote to myself over the last five years, saying stuff I wasn’t ready to understand or hear or deal with. Not quite a break-up record, Enough is more of a pre-break-up record that is really a deep dive into my self-doubt and fear of failure and loneliness. I tried to embrace those feelings and move forward. Allowing vulnerability to be at the core of these songs from the beginning of the writing process to the end of the recording process, I can confidently say: I have found my voice and I trust it more than ever.
The music video for Clay is everything I hoped for, and more.
This song has everything to do with being a woman in this day and age. We are talked down to, we are disrespected, we are assaulted, we are blamed, we are not trusted when we come forward.
Thank you again to my sister, Kendra, and to all that are involved in this video, and a friendly reminder to ALL women: you are loved. you are important. you are cherished. you are worth more than you know.
The release show for Enough, my second full length album, will be on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at the Turf Club in St. Paul, MN. We will be joined by Sam Cassidy and Fathom Lane. Tickets are on sale now (click on the show poster)!
